Andrew Karlsen was born in the small town of Raufoss, Norway, in 1961. He spent much of his childhood pursuing his love of literature, art and outdoor adventures. At the age of twenty-seven he moved to the United States, met his wife Kathleen, and settled into life in a new country and a new culture.
Andrew completed a bachelor’s degree in film and video at Montana State University with an emphasis on scriptwriting. He started his own multimedia business and began to work as a writer, researcher, editor, videographer, photographer, illustrator and graphic designer. Andrew has written documentary scripts and produced programs for the National Park Service, PBS and the Discovery channel.
Andrew Karlsen lives in Bozeman, Montana with his wife Kathleen, also an artist, and their five children.
